The Healthiest Oral Cleaning Routine: A Simple and Effective Daily Process

The healthiest oral cleaning does not lie in using expensive products, but in correct technique and consistency. Please follow this three-step core routine:

Step 1: Effective Brushing (At least twice a day, for 2 minutes each time)

Tool: Use a soft or extra-soft bristled toothbrush to minimize wear on gums and tooth enamel. Replace it every 3 months.

Toothpaste: Use fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride is the most effective ingredient for strengthening enamel and preventing cavities.

Method (Recommended "Bass Method"):

1. Position the bristles at a 45-degree angle to the junction between the teeth and gums.

2. Gently vibrate the brush in small, horizontal movements (covering 1-2 teeth at a time), then sweep along the tooth surface (downward for upper teeth, upward for lower teeth).

3. Brush systematically to ensure coverage of all tooth surfaces: outer, inner, and chewing surfaces. Don't forget to gently brush your tongue.

Step 2: Clean Between Teeth (At least once a day)
This is a crucial step many people miss! A toothbrush cannot remove plaque from between teeth.

Tool Options:

Dental Floss: Suitable for most gaps. Curve it into a "C" shape around the side of each tooth and scrape up and down.

Interdental Brushes: Suitable for larger gaps or receded gums.

Water Flosser (Oral Irrigator): An effective adjunct tool, but it cannot replace the physical friction of floss/interdental brushes for removing plaque.

Step 3: Selective Use of Mouthwash

Function: Aids in freshening breath and rinsing away food debris. It is not a substitute for brushing and flossing!

Choice: For daily use, a fluoride-containing mouthwash can be used. For specific needs (e.g., gingivitis), a therapeutic mouthwash (e.g., containing chlorhexidine, not for long-term use) may be used under the guidance of a dentist.
